Lecturer / Visiting Artist in Scenography
The Department of Theatre at Coastal Carolina University is seeking
applications for a Visiting Artist position in Scenography at the rank
of Lecturer to begin August 2008. The position is a one year renewable
(up to three years) appointment with benefits.
Qualifications: MFA in Design with college-level teaching experience
as well as professional design experience. Training and experience in
scenic and lighting design preferred with further skills in costume
design. Must have experience in scenic painting.
Responsibilities: teach undergraduate courses in design, Scenic
Painting and Introduction to Theatre. Position will function as one of
three designers that develop scenery, lighting and costume designs for
university theatre productions and serve as Scenic Charge for all
university productions. Potential candidates must demonstrate a strong
commitment to teaching and must foster a collegial approach in their
