*ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF THEATRE ARTS*
* *Full-Time, 9-Month, Tenure-Track Position
Southern Utah University, a regional institution and home to the Tony Award
winning Utah Shakespearean Festival, seeks an Assistant Professor of
Theatrical Scenic & Lighting Design. The Theatre Arts & Dance Department
produces six to seven shows annually - four theatre and two dance.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Teach courses in scenic design, lighting design, and general
education (film or theatre)
- Design; supervise student designers
- Curriculum development
- Academic advisement
- Recruitment
- Provide service to the institution
- Collaborate in production process
Required Qualifications:
- MFA in Theatre, Design or Scenography emphasis
- Professional scenic and/or lighting design experience
- Proven effectiveness in teaching/supervising student designers
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in sound design and/or stage management
- Administrative experience
The successful design applicant will maintain a national and/or
international professional profile.
*Starting Date:* August 16, 2007
