Hello Colleagues,
We're preparing to open a new Performing Arts Center at Adelphi
University next fall and the university is searching for a number of
qualified staff members to complement our current faculty and staff.
The following a short descriptions of the jobs. If you are interested
please go to the website for full job descriptions and for the
application.
There is also a Design Supervisor position opening as well that is not
included in these short descriptions. That job description is posted
on the Adelphi website.

Building on its broad commitment to the Arts, Adelphi University is
completing construction of a new performing arts center that will
house the departments of Theatre, Dance, and Music. The center
includes a 500-seat concert hall, the 315-seat Olmsted Theatre, a
200-seat black box theatre, 187-seat dance theatre, and a 120-seat
recital hall. The new performing arts center will play a key role in
not only supporting the internal educational work and extensive
performance calendar of the three performing arts departments, but
also hosting campus events, professional productions, and community
programming.
Productions and Facilities Manager
Experienced and highly collaborative individual to endure safe and
high quality back-of-house operations at Adelphi's new center. Start
date: Jan 2008
Technical Director/Lighting Designer
Highly creative and collaborative professional to provide complete
oversight in technology of all main stage performances within Adelphi
University's new center and to bring sufficient expertise in lighting
design. (MFA Preferred) to teach in the design/technology program (if
qualified). Start date: Jan 2008
Managing Director
Experienced professional broadly familiar with higher education
environment to ensure first class front-of-house operations in the new
center. Start date: Jan 2008
Assistant Managing Director (Half Time)
Experienced professional to aid in all aspects of marketing and
facility; staffing, and production management and act as night manager
for performing arts productions and events. Start date: Jan 2008
Box Office Manager
Experienced and strategically minded individual to fully
operationalize and schedules so that the box office in the
University's new center facility is fully functioning by start of
08-09 academic year and events season. Start date: JUNE 2008
