To all my colleagues in Region III and to the Chairs in all the Regions:

Now that the fog has lifted and my routine for chemo, blood tests, pet
scans, CAT scans, and all the other specifics of the journey through
this world of cancer, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your
cards, your wonderful animal totem, your beautiful pillow, your
emails, your phone calls, your care and encouragement. To experience
this kind of response was more than I had anticipated, and I want you
to know that I drew strength from those thoughts and communication.

I have 6 more chemos to go (end of November is the last - it's
aggressive), then I move onto radiation, then to a 2 year "smart
bomb"; treatment for the tumor (Herceptin). You really start
listening to your life when this touches you. And, in many ways, I
sense a new beginning.

I will be seeing you at region even if just to say hello.

Much success in this semester. Kerro Knox will make a wonderful NPP
Chair, and Kerro, if you need a reader, I'm getting real good and
sitting still, so I'll have plenty of time to read.

Fondly,

Phylis
