Region III Festival participants will have the opportunity audition for a $600 scholarship toward attendance at the Open Jar summer institute for college students.

Open Jar is a musical theatre actor-training program in New York and an extraordinary experience for the serious musical theater student. The summer institute for college students is five days of high-intensity workshops in acting, singing, dance and audition technique. Students work one-on-one with Broadway directors, casting directors, choreographers, actors and agents during the day. At night they go to Broadway shows, participate in talkbacks with the cast and take advantage of backstage opportunities.

Representatives from Open Jar will be on hand to conduct auditions and lead musical theatre workshops throughout the festival week. Check the schedule at Sched.org for details, which will be live about a week before the festival.
